Cruise Shore Excursions-How to Make the Most of Your Wedding Cruise and Honeymoon

By Elaine Lince

Cruise ship shore excursions can enhance your wedding and honeymoon cruise experience. The right excursions are ways to have fun together, and isn't that what the cruise is all about? The hardest part will be deciding what to do, because there are so many choices. Each port of call will offer several types of things to do from shopping to submarine trips.

You will want to consider how much time you want to spend off the ship and what type of activity you want to do. You will need to mix shore activities with on board activities. It's good idea to decide these things before your cruise so that you don't waste time trying to figure it out when you could be having fun. An online travel agency can provide you will a list of all the options and you can even book them when you book your wedding and honeymoon cruise.

Here is a list of some of the things you can do. Most Caribbean island or ports of call in Mexico offer snorkeling and scuba tours. This will include the equipment you need, the boat trip to the snorkeling/scuba area, and often food and drinks. This type of trip can often be combined with a beach excursion as well. Visits to Mayan ruins and ecological parks are available along the Mayan Riviera, Cozumel and Cancun. Fully or partially submerged submarine rides are great for viewing colorful tropical fish and coral reefs if you do not want to get in the water yourself. Jeep adventure tours, or guided historical tours may be your thing. For the adventurous parasailing, kayaking and hiking or deep-sea fishing may be your choice.

If you are interested in a more leisurely activity there are often great beach, lunch and drink trips. One of the benefits of a package is security on the beach, which discourages unlicensed peddlers. Of course if you are interested in a party there is always a good party boat tour, complete with music, dancing, and drink.

If Alaska is destination, shore excursions include helicopter rides that land on glaciers, kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, historical tours of mining towns, or airplane tours are offered.

There are just too many different cruise shore excursions to mention. Check them out on an online travel agency, and book ahead so you can get the experiences that you want. And start having fun!

It's easy to plan a romantic wedding cruise, just take advantage of one of the customized cruise ship wedding packages available through the internet. Yes, warm weather, the blue sea, and exotic ports of call can all be part of your dream cruise wedding
