Titanium Wedding Rings: Unique Designs and Stone Settings for Even the Most Finicky Bride

By T Jas

Want to be like all those other brides on their wedding day?

I didn't think so.

What could be more special than a titanium wedding ring with a unique design and stone setting? Styles are available that will satisfy even the most particular bride.

The typical gold wedding ring consists of a prong setting that showcases the diamond. The problem with this is the prongs and the stone stick out and can get snagged on clothes, etc. Furthermore, the prongs are thin and fragile, making the diamond susceptible to falling out, especially as your ring wears over time.

We know you intend you marriage to last a long time. Therefore you need a ring that will outlast you both. The solution: the titanium wedding ring. Here are the five main styles.

1. Tension Setting

The hardness of titanium allows tension stone settings to be used, where the stone appears 'magically' suspended in place by the pressure exerted by the ends of the metal bands. To picture this, press your thumb and index finger together. Imagine yourself holding a gemstone between them. The pressure of your thumb and index finger keeps the gemstone suspended. This can't be done with the softer gold or platinum metals, only titanium.

2. Tapered Holes

Looking for a completely different look? How about a highly polished titanium band with 24 tapered holes? The holes can be set with cubic zirconia if you prefer. Or you may just prefer a band with a main stone accentuated by two small diamonds embedded in tapered holes.

3. Brushed Channels

The bold look of a wide titanium band with brushed, indented channels is very unique. The pair of channels may be centered or off-center, depending on your taste. Perfect for gay weddings.

4. Polished Band

A highly polished and rounded titanium band is perfect for the person who likes simplicity.

5. Engravings

Due to its' hardness, titanium is perfect for engraved rings. Imagine a flat titanium band engraved with a dragon or a phoenix. This style is certainly not for every one. But it may be just what you've been looking for.
