Wedding Anniversary Gifts

By Robert Mathew

The first wedding anniversary is symbolized with paper; so the ideal gift would be something made from paper like books. Maybe paper tickets to a favorite movie, opera or any other performance or perhaps something made from cotton like a quilt.

Likewise, the second wedding anniversary gift should be something from cotton, the third from leather and many more. The prominent wedding anniversary celebrations like the twenty-fifth is commemorated with silver the fiftieth with gold and the seventy-fifth with diamond. So if it is in your budget, you could consider gifting recipients of such wedding anniversaries gifts made from the respective metals.

You could add a twist to the traditional list of anniversary gifts by perhaps using the material of the yearly theme to wrap a different gift. Or you could use the material to create some trimmings on the wrapping or the gift to make it special. Or better still, you could consider making a carrier for the gift using the theme material. Such a gift is sure to give an added meaning to your gift, and make the recipient privileged to receive the gift.

Some ideas of using your themed material along with your gift could be perhaps a ring tucked into a wallet made of leather. Tying a group of roses with a beautiful bracelet is sure to make your wife happy for having lived with you to receive the gift! Another idea is hiding an attractive necklace inside the inner pocket of a robe made of silk or perhaps wrap a cozy and attractive woolen shawl around some other gift.

Sometimes, though you may want to follow the traditional gift themes when gifting presents to your spouse, you may not be able to use the themed material. Like for example, ivory is the traditional gift for the fourteenth anniversary. The problem is that ivory cannot be imported in US; so you have the alternative of buying gifts made from vintage ivory or other ivory alternatives like nuts and seeds of palm trees and other vegetation.

Though coral is not as protected as ivory, there are many people who consider that coral should not be removed from nature. So you could think for an alternative for the thirty-fifth anniversary like maybe a diving trip to get corals! There is no limit to the ideas available for wedding anniversary gift. All that is needed is some imagination, love and of course money.

You can find lots of ideas for wedding anniversary gifts through the Internet or gift magazines. The Internet has many sites selling wedding anniversary gifts, and also many sites having articles giving you ideas for the perfect anniversary gift. So it is best to surf the internet the next time you need to find the perfect wedding anniversary for your loved one!
