How do you plan a rehearsal dinner?

Answered By Editor

It is traditional for the groom's parents to host a dinner after the wedding rehearsal. The idea of a rehearsal dinner is to give everybody an opportunity to meet each other and get better acquainted before the wedding day. Here are some suggestions on how to do it:

* Choose a color scheme or theme that is not the same as your wedding motif and theme.

* Choose a venue, caterer and menu.

* Make a list of guests who will be attending the wedding rehearsal.

* Choose and send rehearsal dinner invitations one month before the actual dinner.

* Plan for music, decorations and flowers.

* Assign someone to plan and run an ice-breaker activity before the dinner.

* Plan for an ending time and end the dinner punctually so everyone can get home to prepare for the big day.
