What was most memorable about a bridal shower or bacherlorette party you attended?

Can you answer lastminute girl’s question about Weddings?:

What were some fun games or ideas you remember from a bridal shower or bacherlorette party? What made it memorable? What was the best part?

I’m planning one for my brother’s fiance, and hoping for some advice on what works.

Weddings Feedback: When the bride is opening gifts at her shower, you sit and write down everything she says as she’s opening her gifts. When she’s done, then you stand up and say that this is what the bride will be saying on her honeymoon night! The guests will get a big kick out of it and it turns out to be so funny. Things are said like, “OMG – I thought I’d hever get one this big!!” And, “This is soooo nice, Wow! I wasn’t expecting this”….. It can get quite funny!

Another game is to get a ribbon and tie something having to do with the wedding, like a heart, and tie it onto the ribbon. (you can find these things on-line). You give one to each guest as they come in the door and tell them to go ahead and hang it around their neck. When everybody has one and is paying attention, tell them that if they say the word bride or wedding, then they have to give up their necklace to the person that caught them saying those words, so each guest has to be paying close attention to conversations going on around them because you play this game for the duration of the shower – even during present opening. Whoever has the most necklaces around their neck wins the prize.

You can also get a piece of paper and play the wedding word scramble game. You scramble up about 10-15 words having to do with the wedding and give each guest a copy of this paper along with a pen or pencil. Give it to them face down. When you say “go”, they turn it over and try to get as many words correct as they can in a 1 or 1 1/2 minute period. Whoever gets the most words correctly wins. If you have a tie, then come up with a tie-breaker question.

    I hope you have fun!

Weddings Feedback: I am so anti bridal showers… I feel that some use this as just another way to milk gifts out of guests!

Weddings Feedback: I was just at a bridal shower where one of the bridesmaids made up a slideshow on her lap top computer. She put pictures of the bride and groom, from the time they were babies up until the present. Each was done separately…first hers, then his. Many of the people at the shower were also in one or more of the pictures. The computer was left continuously running. Guests stopped by to watch throughout the shower. It was really nice.

Weddings Feedback: I went to a shower about 4 years ago for a girl I used to work with and she got 5 toasters…one right after the other as she opened them up.
